Gabriela joined our team in 2020 as a Therapy Assistant with more than 20 years’ experience working with children from 4 months through to 18 years of age as an Early Childhood Educator, drama and Spanish teacher, and Therapy Assistant for children with disabilities and developmental delays.

 

Gabriela thrives on applying the knowledge from her Early Childhood Education degree to maximise children’s physical development, well-being and social skills through play. She emphasises the importance of finding what motivates each individual child and how best to connect with them to engage cooperation in Physiotherapy exercises using age-appropriate play and activities.  

 

Gabriela has a Diploma of Early Childhood Education, and Certificates in infant & child First Aid and Anaphylaxis. She is an Australian Citizen who is fluent in English and Spanish, and also speaks basic Italian and Portugese.

 

Gabriela is the mother of 3 primary school-aged children and understands how to interpret behaviours and engage cooperation in children of all ages. She also appreciates the challenges of integrating therapy into busy daily routines.

 

Gabriela works under the supervision of our Physiotherapists to help children complete their Physiotherapy exercises with 1:1 support.

Therapy Assistant (also called Allied Health Assistant)

Rachael is a final year Doctor of Physiotherapy student at the University of Melbourne. While completing her training at the Royal Children's Hospital, she deepened her passion for working with children and their families. Before moving to Australia, Rachael completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Western University in Canada, graduating in 2017. 

 

Throughout her life, Rachael has been surrounded by children through babysitting, family gatherings and volunteering with children through the Good Friday Appeal and MotionBall Canada. She has always known she would work with children one day and is very excited to be working with the team at Little Movers Physiotherapy to develop her knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for helping children.
